1 / 3Built interface — Mission board
Overview
NPC Quests & Missions puts people to talk to at the places players already visit. Quest givers stand at Outpost, Bandit Camp and any monument or custom position you set, each with a name, a set of missions and a line of dialogue in a CUI window. Missions come in three kinds: gather a resource, hunt a number of animals or scientists, or deliver an item to another NPC across the map, with rewards in items, currency or XP.
Reputation is tracked per faction of NPCs, so a player who runs deliveries for the Outpost traders unlocks better missions and prices there, while ignoring them keeps the harder contracts locked. XP levels give small perks defined in the config, such as a gather bonus, a crafting speed bonus or a discount at the vendors, and the level shows in the mission board so progress is visible.
The mission board is a full-screen CUI with tabs for available, active and completed missions, each showing objectives with progress counters, the reward and the giver's location. Daily missions rotate from a pool and repeatable missions have cooldowns. Admins define new missions in JSON with objective type, target, count, reward and prerequisites, and can attach a mission chain so one unlocks the next.
Delivered as C# plugins with JSON configs and a starter set of sixty missions. While you are subscribed, the plugins are rebuilt after each forced wipe and after Oxide, uMod or Carbon changes, and the NPC placements are revised when Rust changes a monument. The plan page lists the current mission set and the Rust build the plugins were last tested on.

- Dialogue configs
- Perk configs
- Mission board UI
Features
- Three mission types
- Gather, hunt and deliver cover most of what players already do, so missions add rewards to normal play rather than chores.
- Reputation gates content
- Each NPC faction tracks its own reputation, so harder contracts and better prices are earned at that faction.
- Missions in JSON
- A mission is a small JSON object with objective, count, reward and prerequisites, so adding a chain does not need code.
