1 / 3Built interface — Map overview
Overview
Custom Map Club releases a finished Rust map each period, built by hand in RustEdit rather than generated from a seed. Each map is between 3500 and 4500 in size, with a mix of vanilla monuments placed for sensible travel and custom monuments that give players somewhere new to fight over. Roads and rail are routed so the train loop and cargo paths work, and the topology is checked so nothing spawns where it should not.
Every release comes with a monument list, a spawn guide and a plain overview image. The monument list names each vanilla and custom monument with its grid reference and tier. The spawn guide explains where beach spawns land, how the roads connect the coasts and which areas suit building. A short notes file records the map's intended rate band and group size so it fits the server you run it on.
Maps are delivered as .map files ready for server.levelurl, with the custom prefabs baked in so no extra files are needed on the server. Where a map uses a custom monument with a card puzzle or NPC spawns, those work from the map alone. Nothing depends on a plugin, though the notes mention which common plugins pair well with each layout.
This is a pick-and-keep plan. Each period you choose the release you want and it stays yours after you cancel, so a map you ran for a wipe can come back for a later one. We do not host the map file; you place it on your own web host or object storage and point server.levelurl at it.
What you get
- One hand-built Rust map each period, 3500 to 4500 in size, as a .map file
- Custom monuments baked into the map with loot, puzzles and NPC spawns
- Vanilla monuments placed with checked spacing and working rail and road loops
- A monument list with grid references and tiers for your info panel
- A spawn guide covering beach spawns, road links and building areas
- An overview image sized for Discord and your server listing
- Notes on the intended rate band, group size and pairing plugins
- Claimed maps remain yours after the subscription ends
Eligible resources
The plan covers these resource types. Individual resources are listed in your Gaming Library as they publish.
- Map files
- Monument lists
- Spawn guides
- Overview images
- Map notes
Features
- Rail and roads that work
- Every map is checked so the train loop closes, cargo ship paths clear the coast and roads reach each monument without dead ends.
- Prefabs baked in
- Custom monuments live inside the .map file, so the server needs the map URL and nothing else to run them.
- Pick it, keep it
- You choose the release each period, and every map you claim stays usable on your servers after the plan ends.
Compatibility and requirements
Works with
- Rust dedicated server loading the map via server.levelurl
- RustEdit if you want to edit a map after claiming it
- Oxide / uMod or Carbon optional for spawn and loot plugins
- Map sizes from 3500 to 4500 suit populations of 100 to 250 players
You need
- A Rust dedicated server you control
- A web host or object storage bucket to serve the .map file
- RustEdit only if you plan to modify the map
Updates and content cadence
- Choose the period's map release and claim it while subscribed
- Each claimed map stays yours to run after the plan ends
- Map fixes issued when a Rust update changes a monument or prefab used by a release
License
- Licensed for one server network you own or operate.
- You may edit, re-texture and configure resources for that network.
- Reselling, sharing or re-uploading the files is not permitted.
Installation
- 1Download Custom Map Club from your Gaming Library.
- 2Upload the .map file to your own web host and note its direct URL.
- 3Set server.levelurl to that URL in server.cfg and remove any seed and world size lines.
- 4Restart the server, then use the monument list to update your info panel and Discord.
If you cancel
- Access and updates continue until the end of the period you paid for.
- Resources you claimed while subscribed remain yours to use.
- No further map releases are added to your library after the period ends.
