1 / 3Built interface — Network server list
Overview
Crossplay Network Setup is a complete network layout for a community that wants Java and Bedrock players on the same servers. It ships as a folder set you unpack on your own hosting: a Velocity proxy with forwarding secrets set, Geyser and Floodgate configured on the proxy so Bedrock players join through one port, a lobby server on Paper, and a template backend server ready to copy for survival, minigames or creative.
The configuration work is already done. Modern forwarding is set between Velocity and every backend, Floodgate prefixes and linked accounts are configured, LuckPerms is set up with a default, member and staff track that syncs across servers through MySQL, and tab and scoreboard show the same information to a Java client and a Bedrock client. The lobby has a compass menu, server selectors and a Bedrock-friendly form fallback where a chest GUI does not render well.
Resource pack hosting is handled with notes rather than a hosted service. The kit explains how to serve a Java resource pack and a Bedrock pack from your own web space or object storage, how to set the hashes and forced-pack flags, and how to keep the two in step when custom model data is in use. A hardening pass covers firewall rules so backends only accept the proxy, RCON and query settings, and rate limits on the proxy.
As a server-owner plan, the operational material comes with it: a runbook for adding a backend, a checklist for a Minecraft version bump across Paper, Velocity, Geyser and Floodgate, backup and restart scripts, and a troubleshooting page for the join errors Bedrock players report most. The configs and scripts are revised as Paper, Velocity and Geyser release, so the network keeps working across versions while you are subscribed.
What you get
- Velocity proxy config with modern forwarding and a secrets file per backend
- Geyser and Floodgate configured on the proxy for a single Bedrock port
- Paper lobby with selector menu, Bedrock form fallback and spawn protection
- Template backend server folder to copy for survival, creative or minigames
- LuckPerms tracks and MySQL sync config shared across the network
- Tab and scoreboard configs that render on Java and Bedrock clients
- Resource pack hosting notes for Java and Bedrock packs with hash settings
- Hardening pass, version-bump checklist, backup scripts and a troubleshooting page
Eligible resources
The plan covers these resource types. Individual resources are listed in your Gaming Library as they publish.
- Proxy configs
- Lobby server
- Backend template
- Permission tracks
- Runbooks
- Maintenance scripts
Features
- One port for everyone
- Geyser runs on the proxy, so Bedrock players on phones and consoles join through the same address as Java players and land in the same lobby.
- Permissions that follow players
- LuckPerms with MySQL sync means a rank granted on the lobby applies on every backend, including linked Bedrock accounts through Floodgate.
- Maintained across versions
- A version bump touches Paper, Velocity, Geyser and Floodgate together, and the checklist and revised configs cover each step while subscribed.
Compatibility and requirements
Works with
- Paper or Purpur 1.21.x backends with Velocity 3.4 and later
- Geyser and Floodgate current builds on the proxy
- LuckPerms with MySQL or MariaDB for cross-server sync
- Pterodactyl or a plain VPS with Java 21
You need
- A VPS or panel hosting where you can run several Java processes
- A MySQL or MariaDB database for LuckPerms and player data
- Web space or object storage to host resource packs
Updates and content cadence
- The full network layout, runbooks and scripts from your first day
- Config revisions as Paper, Velocity, Geyser and Floodgate release
- Runbook and checklist revisions as operational material changes while subscribed
